It is with deep regret that our colleague and friend Harry Trip this morning passed away in hospital with his family around him – our thoughts are currently with his family.
His death was sudden and unexpected and the only thing we can draw comfort from was that he did not suffer. More of a surprise as Harry had survived cancer and recovered from treatment many years ago
Harry was a Husband a Father and a Grandfather and was actually planning to retire at the end of this year to spend more time with his wife and family.
Harry had been at Cobar for more than 20 years and had a lot of involvement with the formulation and testing of Cobar products that are currently still being sold globally.
He was a problem solver and a true friend to all our customers always attending personally to any line issues even up to the last week he was still visiting customers and solving problems.
At work Harry was always part of the team but a bit of a maverick trying different things away from R&D to make the process go quicker and help customers – most of the time not even telling his bosses until his process was well underway and 9 times out of 10 he was very successful at making minor changes that made a big difference.
He was very philosophical and level headed in his views and we spent many hours discussing how to put the world right – We will miss him greatly and his shoes at Cobar will be almost impossible to fill. We all have learned a lot from Harry but there was still so much to learn that will now be lost forever.
Productronica will be a place for his colleagues to get together remember and speak about all the good times we had with him.
